TONOPAH, Nev., October 2, 2018 - The following report highlights several important actions taken at the Nye County Board of Commissioners meeting. The agenda numbers provide links to each item’s backup.

Commissioner Butch Borasky was absent from the meeting
Three county employees were honored for their years of service: Dawn Gudmunson with the Recorder's Office for 15 years with the county; Sheldon Rippie for 10 years with Buildings & Grounds; and Brandon Horton for 5 years with Public Works in Tonopah.
The commissioners approved the amended Tri-County Cooperative Agreement between White Pine County, Lincoln County, and Nye County for the purpose of noxious weed management. The agreement has been in place since 1999. (15)
The owner of Blackjack Fireworks, 1181 S. Highway 160 in Pahrump, had its annual wholesale/retail fireworks permit renewed by the board. (17)
The commissioners appointed Chief Deputy Treasurer Jennifer Perry to finish the unexpired tern of the resigning treasurer through the end of the year. (press release)
Comptroller Savannah Rucker discussed with the county commission the current budget status through August as well as the tentative audit schedule the next couple months (21)
The BoCC approved accepting the response from Farr West Engineering to be an independent, third-party county surveyor, and allow county staff to enter into fee negotiations. (22)
